Microblading Baton Rouge, La

Microblading in Baton Rouge, La

Microblading, also known as 3D brows, is the most natural appearing form of eyebrow semipermanent enhancement. Using a pen-like hand tool, strokes are placed in a hair-like formation using pigment into the skin. These strokes fall in the same direction as your own brow  hairs, and create a beautiful result. This method is different from the traditional tattoo done by a machine which typically gives you a powdered or more penciled in look.

Does Eyebrow Microblading hurt?
Your comfort is most important to me, and I will always  use a topical anesthetic cream before and during the procedure to make sure you feel comfortable the whole time.

How long does the microblading take?
I typically book you in for a 2 hour time slot. This will include the consultation, preparing your skin and the procedure.

Consultation and brow design (30 min)
All appointments include a 30 minute brow consultation where together we will shape and design a set of brows that enhance your natural facial features.

Numbing (30 min)
Client instructed to purchase and apply 5% Topical Lidocaine 1 hour prior to appointment. This is to ensure maximum comfort. During the procedure a separate numbing agent is used to enhance numbing effects.

Microbladinging (30 - 60 min)
Chosen pigment color(s) are implanted in the top dermal layer to create hairlike strokes that mimic the appearance of natural brow hair within the designed brow shape.

How many treatments are needed?
Microblading is a 2 step procedure. The cost is $400 ($50 Deposit, $250 at Initial Appointment, $100 at TouchUp). The cost is split over the two sessions for client convenience. A touch-up is needed 4-8 weeks after the intial appointment. Everyone heals differently and at different rates and this gives us the opportunity to make them darker or create more density to your brows the second time.

Do I have to be careful after I have them done?
Aftercare consists of not getting them wet for 24-48 hours after, as well as applying the ointment I provide you with, for 5 days.  DO NOT pick or rub your eyebrows as they are healing, this will cause the pigment to come off prematurely.  Makeup should not be applied on the brows until scabbing is complete but everywhere else is fine.  All laser and rejuvenation type treatment should be avoided on the brow area to avoid premature fading, pigment swelling and or colour altering.

How will they look after I have them done?
Your eyebrows will look amazing, however they will fade 30-50% within that first week of healing.  When you come in for your appointment, bring in any photos of your eyebrows filled in the way you like, as well as any eyebrow makeup that you currently use to do your eyebrows.

What does semi-permanent mean?
It just means that they will gradually fade and eventually you will need to do them again. With proper care they typically will last 1-3 years depending on your skin and lifestyle. Unlike typical inked tattoos which last forever, they fade over time and should be refreshed every 1-1. 5 years for maintenance.

Does it Hurt?
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. Client purchases and applies 5% Lidocaine agent 1 hour prior to the appointment and during the procedure a 2nd agent is used to ensure comfort. It is highly recommended to avoid tattooing during a menstrual cycle because the skin can be hypersensitive. Clients have related the procedure with eyebrow threading, plucking multiple hairs at once, or a light scratching of the skin.

What will it look and feel like?
Redness is very minimal and there is no visible signs of swelling, clients can return to work immediately after the procedure. any redness will subside within the day. after the numbing wears off there will slight discomfort which is described as a sunburn sensation. immediately after the procedure the brows will appear crisp and dark. As the pigment oxidizes the brows will look darker for the first 3-5 days. after the scabbing starts peeling, lighter and softer feather strokes will be present. the color will continue to soften for the next 4 weeks.

How long does it take to heal?
it takes about 2 weeks for the superficial layers of skin to close and heal. Deeper dermal layers of the skin will take up to 4-8 weeks to fully heal. the first 3-5 days will appear dark (especially for light skin and light haired clients) light peeling will start around day 4 or 5 which will reveal much lighter and softer hair strokes.

What will my healed brows look like?
There is absolutely no guarantees with cosmetic tattoo. Results will vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, and the immediate and longterm aftercare by the client. Once the scabbing peels the color will reduce by 30%-50%. The hair-strokes will appear softer and more muted (oily skin types hairstrokes may heal softer and more powdery while drier skin types may heal crisper and more defined). The color will full settle in about 6 weeks. You may experience some patchiness after your first session but do not worry we will perfect them at the second session

How long will it last?
It lasts 1-3 years depending on: lifestyle, sun exposure, and skin type.

Touch-Ups
We follow a 2 session policy to ensure client brows are perfected. Your first brow touch-up at 30-60 days has a $100 fee. At the Touch up appointment depth and density may be added. Clients who do not show for the touch-up are still responsible for the $100 fee.
To maintain optimal results, a Color Boost TouchUp is recommended 12-18 months after the initial Microblading Appointment. A Color Boost Touch-Up is 1/2 the cost of the initial service.

Do I NEED a touch-up?
The short answer is YES. Results will vary from person to person depending on skin type and color used, but most individuals will require 2 sessions to perfect their brows. Even when clients don't feel the touchup is needed, a second appointment increases density, shape, and color retention. Clients with little or no natural brow hairs, or have corrected work may need additional touchups.

How often are touch-ups needed?
An annual touchup is highly recommended to maintain 3D brows. It is ultimately up to the client to decide when it is time for a touchup. There are a few touchup options 6 month, 9 month or 1-1.5 year.  Oilier skin types will tend to fade quicker than drier skin types. Longterm aftercare is crucial to the longevity of your brow investment.
